Several causes: Olecranon bursitis has several different etiologies. Most common is aseptic bursitis, where the fluid is similar to synovial fluid. Second most common is from infection, and usually requires aspiration and culture to identify organism, and usually 3-4 weeks of oral antibiotics (based on culture).  Occasionally, i see gout in the olecranon bursa.

It may not: Although usually self limited, olecranon bursitis may cause a persistent bump on the tip of the elbow.  Ice, steroids and protective braces are used to decrease the swelling around the elbow bursa.  Persistent fluid may be drained in the office, but often returns and may become infected. The swelling itself is not harmful. If painful, surgical excision may be required.  The entire bursa is removed.

Eval: how do you know that is what it is?  Have you had it before?

I would get an evaluation :  X-ray to rule out a fracture, and you may need a joint aspiration (suck the fluid of the elbow to analyze it)

in the meantime keep all pressure off of it, take Motrin as directed and apply an ace wrap

hi, i had a lump in the crease of my inner elbow i pressed down on it a few times and now seems to have gone i am worried i looked up and it said olecranon bursitis? could this be right but it's gone now?

: Olecrenon Bursitis is known as Popeye's elbows after the cartoon character's prominent bulge on his elbows. That is on the outside of the elbow.  Inside the crease is a different matter as their are tendons, nerves, muscles, vessels running in the crease known as the antecubital fossa.  A common swelling in that area is a cyst or muscle hernia.  I recommend you get it examined. Ultrasounds helps.

is it normal for birth stitches to get itchy after a couple of days? the stitches are slowly healing so could the itch indicate that i'm healing?

Itchy scalp: Lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, avocado oil and german chamomile oil are excellent natural home remedies for itchy scalp. Mix these oils in equal proportions and, add some water and finally apply the resultant mixture to heal itchy scalp in a natural way.

hi, i visited my doctor and i have sandworm. it is so itchy. unfortunately it apparently is difficult i get any treatment. all i am doing right now is baseline and cling wrap. i am also trying preparation h. do you have any ideas please?

Pinworms??: I believe that a Sandworm is a fictional creature (from the movie Dune). Do you have pinworms? Pyrantel (Pin X) can be used to treat pin worms and is available over the counter.

is vestibular papillomatosis contagious? they are itchy and burn a little. can i get treatment for this and is it dangerous/ harmful?

Normal : Vestibular papilomatosis is a normal variant that often gets mistaken for hpv condyloma or genital warts. An experienced gynecologist can visually see the difference but often a biopsy is needed to prove it. If the diagnosis is confirmed then no treatment is needed since this is normal and not contagious.
