No: Once the decay has progressed to degree of being a cavity, it will need to be fixed by a dentist. It can't be 'undone', but good oral hygiene may prevent it from progressing.

That depends on what: You mean by "a cavity". If you mean an area of decalcified enamel that has not yet developed into a hole or a sticky area, than yes, you may be able to heal the area with proper Fluoride therapy.  If you mean a sticky hole, then No, it is too late, you can not heal this and it must be restored by a dentist to stop progression.  See your dentist for an evaluation.

Invasion: Once the structure of the tooth is invaded and damaged by the bacteria/acid desolving process, it can not reform on its on. That's why we stress prevention to stop the destruction begins on the tooth.

No!: No don't do it. First of all, it will be extremely painful. The dentist can numb you up where you won't feel anything at all. Secondly, you need an x-ray to determine the anatomy of the roots to see if it can be pulled normally or will need to go to an oral surgeon. Thirdly, you don't have the proper tools to do it. Fourthly, the cavity may be able to be filled and save the tooth.

Very simple: Your skin is living tissue.. It has cells that can divide and repair damage, like a cut. The enamel and dentin of your tooth is not alive... There are no cells to divide and repair the damage. Only the nerve in the center of the tooth is alive, and if it is traumatized too much, it dies. Your enamel is comprised of an inorganic matrix of calcium and other materials.

NO: Tooth denay is caused by bacteria and once it has started the only way to treat decay is to have the decay removed and the tooth filled.  Decay will continue to progress and get bigger and deepeer until it is treated so the sooner you can get treatment the better.  See a dentist!

No: Teeth loose their minerals and turn from enamel colored to white, then brown , then black and a cavity ( hole in the tooth)is formed.  You can interupt the dimineraliztion process by applying flouride and preventing the tooth from progressing past the white or brown  demineraztion stage.

Oro-antral opening: This occurs when the roots of the maxillary teeth communicate with the maxillary sinus. When the tooth is removed, there is an opening between the sinus and your oral cavity. This usually heals on its own without incident. To help promote healing and to avoid repair surgery, do not blow your nose until the area is completely healed. Allow your dentist to monitor the site.
