Very bad idea: Hydrocortisone will relieve inflammation but greatly slow healing and encourage overgrowth of the bacteria that will cause the next outbreak.

Tincture of time: Nothing you can do will cause an acne scab to heal faster. The new blood vessels have to take time to grow in and lay down new fibers to restore the injured area. Try to leave it alone and keep it clean.

Acne: Start with a mild soap(Dove white liquid), cleanse with buffing skin,don't squeeze as it can cause contents to break thru underneath and form cysts;can use benzoyl peroxide OTC at bedtime to dry lesion;if not improving,see you doc for Rx cream

Acne: This may be an infection, but to get you through the night,  try a frozen,  wet green tea bag or maybe a little witch hazel and apply as a cold compress.  Sometimes a little hydrocortisone can help with temporary inflammation but if it really becomes tender or hot, or has yellow discharge (aka pus), see a doctor because an abscess could form, leading to a much larger bump &amp; scab PLUS a scar!

No short answer.: If you scars are indeed acne, you should let the scabs heal and see a dermatologist for treatment. The swelling will subside naturally, but sometimes acne leaves pitting scars which need " sanding" or a laser or chemical peel.

Patience.: A month is not long enough, in many cases. Give the treatment time to work. If you are still not seeing improvement after 2 or 3 months, ask your prescriber to modify your regimen. Everyone is different, and sometimes several treatment combinations have to be tried before an effective one is found.
