Headache: This usually stems from tension in the muscles in the neck. They are attached at the back of the head, and usually give rise for a headache. Help with a warmed up towel, moistened and placed into the microwave for a short time can help a lot.

Headaches: Tension headaches are common in this area, but so are migraines which can affect the nerve that supplies this area. Try cold compresses, Aspirin or ibuprofen.  Severe and unusual headaches in this area area a medical emergency and require immediate attention.

Can be: from an acute viral illness.  If it continues for more than a few days you might want to have your doctor check you.  -If you have high fever, generalized signs of illness or neck stiffness you need to be seen right away.

Stress HA = migraine: Your headaches are almost certainly migraines. Although stress can aggravate them, it is likely that you would still have headaches even if you were completely stress-free.  The otc meds you take for the head pain can result in rebound/medication overuse headache.  You should see a neurologist and get put on a good preventative agent as well as a good acute headpain med, ie a triptan (ie imitrex).

Mix of both: You probably have some manifestations of migraine, but perhaps tension components also, and term "mixed headache syndrome" might apply.  Meds designed for migraine abatement or prevention might break up your pattern.

Head injury : You most likely had a severe head injury that should have been attended to earlier. Ask your doctor to send yo7 for Xrays and possibly CT scan like yesterday

Imaging: Results are worrisome, but they do not explain her symptoms. Including her cervical spine in the work up will be critical as well. Talk to her doctor as he or she has the best view on her situation.
