Low likelihood: While theoretically it is possible that very tight hat over forehead may compress sensory  nerves of forehead and cause numbness but in reality it will be extremely rare.

Possibly: It could be allergies to various things like pollen,trees, grasses, cosmetics, eye glass material,hair spray or some primary irritant especially if others around you note similar symptoms.

Sunburn: Sun exposure or a contact rash may cause these symptoms. Apply an oatmeal paste to the affected areas. Use no products with fragrance and avoid sun exposure. Use sunblock. If no relief, see your physician. A cool pack may help

Idiosyncratic: Burning head sensation is not a commonly reported side effect associated with metformin. A few percent of patients experience headaches but not burning head sensation. Discuss this with your doctor.

One of two things ?: Burning in the head is uncommon with metformin. One possibility is acidosis and the other is hypogycemia. Check your blood sugar if it occurs again. You need to tell the doctor who prescribed the metformin that  you are having this problem.

Common vs less commo: You can be having atypical migraines, which are common. Everything else is downhill.  If concerned see your pcp or schedule an appointment with a neurologist!

Sinusitis: This is not a typical sinus symptom which usually consists of pain with associated nasal congestion and drainage of mucus. Neuralgia, which is an irritation/inflammation of a superficial nerve in the forehead, is more likely. It's not serious and usually resolves in a few days. See your MD if symptoms persist or worsen.

Irritation: If the skin is exposed to repeated rubbing or hot water it becomes more sensitive.
