: I doubt that there is enough to cause a real problem. If the kid has trouble drinking fluids or eating it may be from a chemical burn on the tongue. If so an evaluation by his doc would be reasonable.

No!: Do not use toilet bowl cleaner as toothpaste, even one that claims it is all natural.  It still has potent nasty chemicals  that will cause  serious harm to your mouth.  Stick with toothpaste.  Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist.  Flossing every day will keep you from building up tarter on your teeth. Stay safe.

hi! i used lysol toilet bowl cleaner to clean the grout in my kitchen for a good 45 minutes. i didnt have the fan above on and noticed the smell was strong. i stopped cleaning with it but am worried i mightve hurt my baby. ill be 16 weeks tomorrow?

: There have been no reliable reports of injury to the fetus in the first trimester from breathing lysol vapors. As a precaution you can stop using that product, or wear an N99 mask while using cleaners.  For now, there is not too much to worry about.  Good luck!

i  beleive i have damaged my lungs by breathing in some cleaning chemicals.  what can i do about this horrible coughing fit ? i was clleaning my toilet and mixed some bleach with toilet bowl cleaner in the bowl and went to wipe it out and inhaled the fume

I : I really wish i had seen your question earlier, so that i could have responded to it immediately.  It sounds like you did damage your lungs.  I do not know if the damage is temporary.  Mixing bleach with some toilet bowl cleaners can produce chlorine gas. To get an idea of how dangerous chlorine is, it has been used as a chemical warfare agent.  Bleach mixed with ammonia is especially dangerous because it can create monochloramine or dichloramine (chloramine gases). You wonâ€™t see the gases in the air and you might not smell them because of the aroma of the chemicals you are using.
   It is usually unwise to mix cleaning chemicals because there could be chemical reactions that releases toxic gases.  Anytime you are cleaning a toilet with a chemical product that can be toxic (yes that includes most cleaning products), the windows should be open and the fans should be on.  If you come into contact with gases that cause you to cough or experience burning, get fresh air as quickly as possible. Depending on how severely you are impacted, do not hesitate to call 911.  I do recommend that you be seen at your emergency room, especially if you have lingering symptoms.

Chemical: irritation is common with these cleaners...always use in WELL VENTILATED areas.

Your symptoms should subside when you are removed from the irritating vapors/

It : It is very important that you call 911 immediately. Please give the 911 operator the same information you have just given us.  I do not know your age. If you are a teen or kid, tell your parents immediately about drinking the toilet water with bleach and the fact that do not want to have to stab yourself. Remove the belt immediately, do not drink any more toilet water. Do not go near anythihg that is sharp. Do not go near any medications. It is imperative that you call 911 now.

1st Things 1st!: Has lead poisoning been diagnosed?  Get a competent diagnosis from a competent physician.  Where is the lead poisoning source?  Remove it.  That's #1 and #2.

Lead poisoning: It depends on the source of exposure of your husband. Lear poisoning is not catchy like an infectious disease. If his exposure was not at work you may want to get tested. Treatment consists of removing the source of exposure as well as the use of chelating agents such as EDTA
