Possible yet unlikel: Possible, but from your description an based on your age i would say it is more likely not cancerous. More likely a viral growth similar to a wart or a hpv lesion. See a dentist asap to determine exactly what it is and what needs to be done about it.

Yes- Torus?: If it is a mandibular torus, which is merely some excess bone, it is completely benign and nothing to be concerned with.  In fact, there is no reason to even monitor it.  Without actually personally examining you and seeing x-rays of the area, there is no way to know for sure that's what you have.  Ask your dentist if that is what it is or does he\she suspect anything else.

Bone - what else: Not say where it is located. See an oral surgeon.  It is not unusual to have a spontaneous growth of bone at a site. A surgeon may want to remove it and look at it under the microscope. I would not ignore it.
