Spasm: Absolutely, spasm can reduce blood flow and cause pain/aching in the leg. Not sure why you had the steroid IM shot though. Consider getting your low back looked at by a chiropractor or a DO who knows how to manipulate.  Odds are you have a structural issue somewhere below L2.  Soak in a hot bath then do some gentle stretching exercises.

See your physician: Without more information and the ability to ask you many focused questions it's difficult to give you specific advice other than your symptoms suggest a possible nerve impairment such as from a herniated disc. In order to get a precise diagnoses and treatment you must see your physician

Needs attention: spasticity is a symptom of a disorder of either the brain or spinal cord.  I would recommend a neurological consult in the near future.

Spasticity: The Baclofen pump infusion rate may need to be increased or you may require a drug holiday to reset the receptors and reduce tolerance to baclofen. It is important to interrogate the pump and ensure the tubing is connected to the pump as well.

i had a hemorrhagic brain stem stroke approx 12 months ago. recently spasticity has set in my right arm, leg, chest, throat & face. what can i do to relieve the throat& facial spasticity which covers my entire face, both sides of my neck & my throat?

: Contact your neurologist and discuss use of BOTOX for upper extremity spasticity.  There are also medications which may help, if side effects are not too intense.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably a neurologist. Try to exercise regularly as it may help improve your muscle health.

what do i do for estreme leg, feet and hand muscle cramps? kept me up all night--still spasaming.  tried diazapam that i have for occasional cramping and drank some tonic water for the quinine and drank gator ade for the electrolights.

I : I agree with dr. Jaffery.  Another consideration would be spinal cord irritation and a neurologic exam would be able to uncover that problem.

Before you visit the neurologist make sure to differentiate between "spasms", cramps, and restless legs.

Spasms respresent a painful and involuntary muscle contraction.  It can not be released voluntarily.

A muscle cramp is a sudden intermittent pain of a muscle that may involve involuntary contractions and can be associated with spasms.

Restless legs refers to an uneasiness and restlessness in the legs when at rest.  This most commonly occurs after going to bed but can be seen earlier in the evening (anticipation).

Cramps can also be associated with arthritic conditions and cold exposure.  I hope this helps.

Address the cause: Acute spasms in an other wise healthy individual without muscle disease is usually due to acute disturbance in electrolyte balance, usually potassium.  Other than manually messaging the muscle, potassium pills, or even better, bananas.  Tomatoes also work.  Chronic recurrent spasms need further investigation to rule out muscle or neuromuscular disease.

Muscle stretching.: Most cramps (charlie hoarses or spasms) are best managed with gradual over- stretching of the cramped up muscle. At some point it will just "give" and spasm will resolve right away. The muscle will stay irritated and can easily go back into spasm within a few minutes after resolution.

Many causes: muscle spasms can be from many causes from electrolyte abnormalities (magnesium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus) to motor nerves,roots,anterior horn disease. ALS in the context of no weakness is highly unlikely but you need to be evaluated by a neurologist to rule out dangerous causes of spasms with muscle EMG testing.
