I don't even : understand the question. YOu can have hairs that get stuck under skin and they can be quite long but they don't cover entire head

You might: Wanna start rogaine (minoxidil).  A medication called spironalactone may help but i would see a dermatologist.

No: But some hairs may be broken. Hair remaining after a break will be shorter but will continue to grow at 1cm per month.

Perhaps due to genes: Our hair thickness and volume are inherited traits. If people in your family have similar hairlines its appearance could be a genetic cause. However if you notice significant hair loss I would advice to consult a dermatologist to check nutritional deficiencies among other causes.

See a dermatologist: Hair loss can be attributed to many causes (e.G, cosmetic treatments,  medications, genetics, hormonal status, nutritional status, etc.). 
A dermatologist will be able to exclude many of these cause and may be able to help you determine what is the underlying cause  the loss of hair density.
