why do i burp all the time after having bariatric gastric  sleeve surgery?

Small stomach: Burping is expulsion of air that we swallow during swallowing with or without  food .After the surgical procedure stomach capacity has decreased so there is very little storage room for air.Consequently more frequent burping since surgery.

how often should i eat  clear liquids  one week out of gastric sleeve surgery?  it feels as though i am hungry every hour . is this normal?

Talk to dr: Every surgeon has their own protocol for when to advance your diet to the next stage. If you if d yourself being hungry all the time try increasing your protein intake..

my sister did a gastrectomy or gastric sleeve surgery, now after a month, she can't eat anything even if it is one bite of an apple. is that normal ?

Accepted Answer

No: It's possible she's developing a stricture or narrowing.  I recommend she sees her surgeon as soon as possible.  Sometimes an upper endoscopy with dilation is all that is needed.

i had a gastric sleeve surgery 4 months ago, i only have bowel movement maybe once a week. i think i now have hemorrhoids, is this all related?

Pain Meds?: Are you still taking prescription meds for pain?  Narcotics can worsen constipation.  Either way you want to avoid constipating, high-fat foods and increase the fiber in your diet.  Make sure you are well hydrated or the fiber won't work as well. Talk with your bariatric surgeon about diet modifications that may help.

Fairly Extensive: You need to check with your doctor about their routine labs but typically it involves - complete blood count, metabolic profile, coagulation profile, lipid profile, thyroid function tests, and ferritin (iron). Other tests include ekg, maybe a stress test, chest x-ray, arterial blood gas, and pulmonary function tests.
If sleep apnea is a concern possibly a sleep study. Upper endoscopy is common.

Think about it...: Do you really want to suffer the double recovery  involved with both a fresh tatoo site AND a fresh abdominal incision?

: You might have a urinary infection or the urine might be very concentrated, Drink as much water as possible under circumstances ( small amts frequently) If it is not better in a few days pl see your doc/ urologist
