Green Stool: If the stool was loose, the reason for green stool could be too rapid a transit time in the gut.   Eating green leafy vegetables can lead to green stool.  Green cabbage, lettuce, peas, cabbage, spinach, broccoli, green salad, green leaves, celery and green beans as well as food that contains green food coloring can lead to green stool.

Likely not to worry: Likely means nothing other than change in the transit time of your stool through the colon, or related to something green that you adjusted.  If continues however, go for full examination.

See your doctor: There are many causes for blood in the stool. At your age, hemorrhoids are probably the most common cause, but i would not assume that and will recommend being seen and examined.

Blue/green stool: Blue food coloring is a popular food additive, and when ingested in large quantities can make stools appear blue. Blue is not a pigment typically produced by the human GI tract.  Blue is however the color of ingestable "indicator" dyes &amp; that a hemoccult card will turn if blood is detected in stool (or it taking a lot of iron, as in your case)--is this to what you are referring?

The : The fever you endured may have entailed some tissue damage that is now prevalent in your feces. Perhaps you were taking some medications that caused your feces to turn green. Also, your feces may have turned green due to digestive enzymes that were passed through in the absence of food. It is not normal, but unless your feces are black, tarry or have coffee grounds (signs of blood) , there is not a medical concern connected to green feces. Ongoing changes in feces should be reported to your doctor, if when you introduce food back into your diet and your feces continue to be green, let your doctor know.

Good : Good news! the only stool colors we get really concerned about are red (blood from colon), black (blood from small intestine or stomach), or white (liver is not working well). Colors such as brown, yellow, orange, green, even blue (blue kool-aid or blueberries) or purple (beets) can all be normal and usually associated with diet or viral illness. If you have a persistent change in your stool habits, you should contact your physician since this could be a sign of an underlying disorder, but a one-time strange stool that is not red, black or white is usually of no concern.

Your symptoms are unlikely related to your water intake during exercise.

Why bluegreen stool?: The color of stool varies with foods, speed of emptying of the GI tract, medications ; supplements ingested, gut flora (unique for each individual), additives (like blood), subtractions (like absent bile), infection/exposures, inflammation, ; other factors. Since your bowel pattern has changed ; ?Persists, testing is in order. You're probably okay, but get an exam to determine if rx is needed.

Not gallstones: The combination of olive oil, lemon juice, and digestive enzymes in our gut creates "soap stones"; these are not gallstones. There is medication, however, that can sometimes dissolve stones.However, it is an ineffective alternative to surgery--the gb is a "gallstone factory"--new stones will form within a few years. Lastly, a polyp can be pre-malignant: if &gt; 1 cm, the gallbladder should be removed.
