Feeling gassy...: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks).  Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Try drinking: 80-100 ounces of caffeine free/alcohol free fluid daily. Often eating a high fiber diet without taking enough of the right kinds of fluid will cause all of your symptoms. No medicine is as good as eating and drinking properly.

Intestinal gas is most commonly the result of bacterial production, and becomes painful if it distends the bowel. Ground flaxseed isn't metabolized easily by bacteria, but does stimulate bowel activity. Try 2 tablespoons twice a day.
