Possible, Not Top 4: Top 4 complications from gonorrhea [gc]: sterility, infectious arthritis, diseased heart valves, meningitis. Gc can spread into your blood and cause septic shock, which can lead to kidney failure & other systemwide problems. Thankfully this doesn't happen often. Also, remember if you get gc, you can get other std's like hiv. Be safe and smart. Use condoms. No love without the glove.

No: Gonorrhea does not directly affect the kidneys. However, repeated infections can impair urine outflow from the bladder by causing a urethral stricture. Failure for urine to leave the body (bladder) means the kidneys cannot work. This is called urinary obstruction. Relief of the obstruction restores kidney function.

Recent infection: Your positive gonorrhea test means you were infected recently, probably within a few weeks and for sure a few months before the test. Even without antibiotics, the immune sysem clears gonorrhea in a few months. Also, it is likely that some of the antibiotics used for your UTIs would have cured gonorrhea if you had it. Make sure your partner(s) are tested and treated. Good luck!

Possible: possible, but most times there are symptoms such as discharge, itching and penile pain, esp when urinating. There are some cases that are asymptomatic. Good idea to be examined by your doc to determine whether dx is correct. Other symptoms can also be present such as joint pain and even specific rash
