Zoloft (sertraline): Zoloft is in a class of medications called SSRIs.  50% of women on SSRIs have a decrease in their sex drive.  Wellbutrin (bupropion) isn't supposed to do this.  Best wishes!

All: Most all antidepressants can affect a person's normal sexual functioning at various different levels and in different ways. The antidepressants which affect serotonin can cause problems with the ability to have an orgasm. The one antidepressant which has the lowest risk for sexual side-effects is called buproprion or wellbutrin (bupropion).

Talk to doctor: Try tapering Buspar (buspirone) which has been found to cause restlessness which may be confused with increased anxiety: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buspirone. Review possible side effects from Buspar (buspirone) with prescribing doctor and consider alternatives.  Also life stressors may be fueling your distress. Discuss with doctor and consider therapy if appropriate. Take care.

Low libido from med.: Zoloft and all SSRI anti-depressants can lead to sexual dysfunction as well as diminished libido. Wellbutrin (bupropion) is normally not associated with adverse effects on sexual function and performance. Speak with your doctor to see if he/she think you'd do better on Wellbutrin (bupropion) alone. The SR vs the XL version won't affect sexual function differently. Low testo and depression itself can also afffect libido.

Tell your physician: The reasons for low libido are multiple. If you suspect your medication to be the cause for low sex drive, talk to your doctor before making any changes.

i have mdd and on sertraline. 100mg/day. it has killed my libido. how can i convince my gp to prescribe me zyban (bupropion) off label for depression? i'm in uk

See a specialist: If you visit a psychiatrist, s/he might recommend the medication you're interested in, at which point, the gp will have a good reason to prescribe it. Your gp probably won't prescribe an off label medication without the support of a specialist.

Could happen: Your libido could increase sure. It could be related to feeling better as far as depression and with that your libido increased. The only way to know if your libido will stay or not is to continue to take it and see what happens. If it is bothersome then discuss with your physician as there are other options.
