why do i get hiccups after eating carrots? usually anytime i eat raw carrots

DON'T know: Hiccups are the uncontrolled contractions of the diaphragm muscle (which controls breathing). This fetal reflex is thought to get the 'new born ready to breath' before birth.
In you, raw carrots happen to be a trigger. It is probably the
texture of the food impacting the esophagus (food pipe). I guess you have to eat them cooked.

Hiccups: Your symptoms are suggesting diaphragm irritation through possible esophageal distension. Would suggest taking really small first bites, give it a good chew effort, 1-2 sips of water, swallow and wait few seconds, then go for the next bite. This way you will avoid forming a large bolus in your distal esophagus. Timing is critical.

Eat too fast or much: Many things may cause hiccoughs; sometimes 
cause is unknown, but can be very prolonged, very bothersome, and intractable even with various treatments. In your case, suspect you are eating too much, too fast. Slow down, chew the food well, relax while eating, drink 1-2 glasses of water during the meal. In other words, eat the way all your 20 something year old friends probably don't.

Diaphragm: This could be related to the diaphragm irritability. Diaphragm is a dome shaped muscle between the chest and abdomen. Try to drinking lots of water at mealtime, see if that helps. If your problem persist, see your doctor.

still hiccuping after eating 3 months post-nissen fundoplication. is this permanent? otherwise, surgery was complete success.

Hiccups post Nissen: This is likely related to ingesting air. Many reflux patients swallow air. This behavior must be "unlearned". It often resolves with time but takes months.  Delayed gastric emptying is also possible.  Try simethicone to see if it improves symptoms.  Also avoid carbonation, gum, straws, raw veggies, and crunchy foods as these all increase gastric air swallowing.

i have a 29 days old baby girl and i am breastfeeding,however she vomits every time after eating and i burp her and then she gets hiccups.

Infant feeding: Newborn infants will drink too rapidly during feedings, creating "swallowed air" which causes regurgitation ("vomiting").  Disengage your baby from the breast after one or two minutes, "burp" her gently, and then continue nursing.  The infant will be more "full" and not swallow so much air, which will diminish her regurgitation.

after eating i have constantly been struggling with becoming physically ill, it starts with hiccups which leads to heart burn, and burping up stomach acid and food. this also leads me to have stomach pains and a head ache, i have lost my appetite.

? Gastritis : You can try OTC antacids / PPIs, read the labels carefully, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment and possible referral to a gastroenterologist, wish you well and good luck

Keep a food diary: This is a fairly common experience, especially among people with diabetes, or whose bodies are starting to struggle to maintain stable sugar levels throughout the day. Keep a log of when you feel this way, and what you've eaten in the 2 hours just before that. Many people find that eating fewer carbs (sugars/starches) or walking after eating helps them avoid feeling this way.
