Specifically what heavy metal was detected and by what means? What were your symptoms and how was the connection made between your symptoms and the RCT procedure?

Possibly: It is possible that cyano-cobalamine might be the cause of symptoms since it releases cyanide but methylcobalamine the preferred form, should not cause side effects. If stopping the b-12 supplement gets rid of your symptoms that would be evidence that the supplement is the culprit. Possibly you need other b vitamins for b-12 to work properly like methyl folate (folic acid) and b-6.  Look at your life style.

Lithium toxicity: Lithium can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, muscle weakness, and fatigue.  Also there can be a fine tremor of the hands or legs, muscle twitches, difficulty walking, slurred speech, nystagmus, and seizures.  Management is to reduce dose or temporarily stop the drug.  Lithium levels need to be monitored regularly, and kept in therapeutic range (maintenance .6 - 1 mmol/l).

No but: One shouldn't need to rely on glycerin suppositories for constipation.  By adding a maintenance dose of polyethylene glycol 3360 +/- milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) under the direction of your doctor, I would hope that you wouldn't need chronic use of suppositories.

Several days/weeks: If the treatment is intensive before it becomes a full blown cardiac emergency- days. If ICU care is involved, then weeks after antibiotics, blood replacement, and sometimes d.I.C.(clotting problems) occasionally, if the diagnosis is missed or not treated soon enough, death is the result.

Don't do that again: If you've already taken it out, and have no symptoms, sounds like you may have dodged a bullet there. Symptoms of Toxic Shock Syndrome are not subtle: high fever and flu-like symptoms are typically described. Just be more careful in the future.

Yes: Can have toxic levels of tegretol.  Need to check levels periodically.   Can feel tired headache lightheadedness.  Rash can occur.    Just to name a few.  If you have been on awhile without problems should be ok.   Just check levels periodically

Follow up appt?: When is your follow up appt for a lithium level? It may then be safe to take 300-600mg a day if your level has decreased adequately. Some patients benefit from subtheraputic levels on less lithium, which is safer. Make sure your thyroid function tests and kidney function tests are also checked regularly while on lithium.

trying to understand. button batteries are very toxic if ingested. if they are burning holes in tissue wouldn't you see bad symptoms a week post ingestion?

Maybe: Button batteries are not good to eat because they can leak acid and current into the intestines as they pass. Even worse, they can get stuck and cause deep injury. Keep them away for children's reach to avoid possible devastation.
