Different purposes: Gas-x (simethicone) relieves pressure and bloating caused by gas in the digestive tract.  Antacids relieve "heartburn", also known as acid reflux or acid indigestion.

Gas-X : Contains simethicone. This is used to help relieve symptoms of extra gas such as bloating, feelings of pressure / discomfort in the stomach and belching. It helps break up gas bubbles in the gut . It is not used to treat constipation. You will need  laxatives, stool softeners , modifying your diet and plenty of fluids ( at least 3-16 oz bottled water) and a good bowel habit ( 3 per day)!

If you need something like gas-x or beano you might want to see if you have a food intolerance or allergy causing this and eliminate this food or foods from your diet. Beano helps with beans and cruciferous vegetables and gas x absorbs gas. Common food allergies are dairy, wheat and nuts. Keep a food diary and see what is cause.

Not best idea: Levothyroxine is best taken on an empty stomach. Take the gas-x either two hours before or two hours after your thyroid medication.

Yes: Lactaid is an enzyme that will help digest milk sugar without any side effects.  Gas-x is designed to break down gas bubbles in the intestinal tract and it also has no side effects.
