Vaginal or Rectal?: Vaginal gas can occur when a "tents" or has vaginal widening before and during an orgasm. Air can be pushed in and escape. This can be quite normal. If you are talking about the rectum, it is physically sitmulated during regular intercourse because of proximity and cause gas to be expelled!

no set time...: Flatulence, indigestion, nausea, heartburn, constipation are all common GI side effects of pregnancy, but not everyone gets them, and, although it is more common to have nausea in the beginning and heartburn at the end, there really is not set time for any of these symptoms.

Good digestion: Digestive symptoms are common in pregnancy.Make sure you are getting plenty of fiber, fluids & whole, nutritious foods. An easy bowel movement daily helps too. If you are constipated, gas may increase. Taking simethicone tabs may help & are safe, but start with what and how you eat and your other GI complaints may diminish. Last- develop a sense of humor- your "gas problems" are only the beginning.

Try different foods: A little gas is ok but not a lot. Since we don't digest the fiber we eat, intestinal bacteria feed on excess fiber and make gas as a byproduct. Another reason may be lactose intolerance, in which one can't digest the lactose (milk sugar) he eats, leading to gas. During the menstrual cycle, some women have changes in the speed of food passing the gut (slower = constipation), which can increase gas.

Don't think you can: Do anything except eat a good meal before class.  Any other motions or noises are natural.

Theoretically...: ...Mustard gas can damage dna - this was noticed when mustard gas survivors came back with low white blood cell counts - but unlikely to produce mutations with specific neurologic effects. Also, mustard gas was used during wwi, not wwii, although it was stockpiled in several places, with accidental exposures possible though not as likely as battle exposures in wwi.

The action of intercourse often traps air inside the vagina which can be expelled at any time. This is very normal and should not make one forget why the "event" was ongoing in the first place.
