Could be infection: Your symptoms could be indicative of an underlying infection in your urogenital area, that may be exacerbated with the inflammation of your menses. As well.  Best to get evaluated and diagnosed so the proper treatment can occur, best wishes.

Pregnant?: Get a home urine test kit and check for increase in hcg. If negative wait 7-14 days and test again. These are relatively inexpensive. Good luck and if preggers, have a great baby.

Unusual: On the surface, the timing and type of pain does not make a lot of sense.  Start with a gynecologist, then maybe a urologist, but keep after it until you get some answers. Good luck.

Try postvoid drain..: Try leaning forward to void, tighten the pelvis 2-4 times after each voiding, use less bulky tampon, and soak and dry the genital area with soft paper before pulling up the pants.; and see what happens.  Best luck.

Check a test: You certainly could be pregnant. Check a pregnancy test. It's also possible that you have a urinary tract infection so if the test is negative you need to be seen to check out that possibility. Best of luck.

Yes and no: You have symptoms of uti.  There is also a possibility of pregnancy based on the history.  Have a urine analysis and urine culture done.  Also have a pregnancy test done.  See your gyn or family doctor soon.  Uti and miscarriage have a correlation.  So don't delay.

Not common, unless: Were you pregnant?  The pattern you describe happens sometimes with a miscarriage.  It can OCCASIONALLY happen normally  or when there is infection in your uterus.

Painful menses: Painful periods that you describe may indicate a condition called Endometriosis. You need to be evaluated by a GYN MD to accurately determine the cause as soon as you can by making an appointment.
