Pregnant ? : Pregnancy and the additional stress involved will occasionally cause increased gastric acids, and at "about four months" the pregnancy is large enough to cause back pain which should be relieved in about another 2-3 weeks as the uterus rises above the sacral area and away from the spine.

Eventually this will help make the pelvis pliable enough for baby to push its way into the world.Unfortunately, ligaments have little nerves inside them that can stretch, causing pain. Also, loosened ligaments allow bone to shift &amp; pinch nerves. Increasing girth also stretches other nerves.A good physical exam and osteopathic treatment may help

Very Common: Yes, leg cramps are very common during early pregnancy. Be sure you are staying well hydrated, getting plenty of sleep and eating a healthy diet to help reduce leg cramps.

Possible sciatica: Check with your doctor. He may want to order an MRI to see if you have a bulging disk that is impinging on your nerve.

Sorry : Sorry to hear about your back and leg pain.  The l5-s1 disk is probably pinching your leg nerves (sciatic nerves) causing leg pain called sciatica.  Lumbar disk surgery should be considered if steroid injections have not relieved the pain.

Traditionally lumbar disk surgery was done through a large incision with significant muscle retraction, damage and bone removal to get to the disk.  Today most lumbar disk herniations can be removed minimally invasively with the spine endoscope. This outpatient surgery is done with a small camera the size of a pen through an incision the size of your finger nail.  Most people have quick relief from their pain and decreased recovery.

Not normally.: Classic pregnancy sxs begin when period is missed or thereafter (6-8 wks).  Sx’s can include: tender /swollen breasts, nausea or vomiting; lack of period; ^ frequency of urination; headaches, insomnia, fatigue. Moodiness, mild cramping, food cravings ; aversions; passing gas; enlarging waist line ; ^ white, milky vaginal discharge. Take pregnancy test to know.

General symptoms...: Having some muscle cramps and/or having some leg aches are considered "general symptoms" and not specific to ovulation or to a new pregnancy. That means women can get these symptoms whether or not they are ovulating, and whether or not they are newly pregnant. If symptoms persist or are bothersome, one's primary care doctor can take a look to help figure out the cause.
