: It does take a while for the body to get rid of all the dead tissue that may be responsible for the smell. I would suggest if anything like fever, pain worsening you may want to seek further evaluation to make sure there is no infection. If no other symptoms continue regular personal hygiene and exercise may help speed the expulsion of the dead tissue.

Bacterial vaginosis?: This definitely isn't normal. The most common cause of bad vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. You also could have an infection from the abortion procedure, or something else related to it, like a forgotten tampon or gauze sponge. See your doctor ASAP for exam and testing. It should be pretty easy to diagnose and get you on proper treatment. Good luck!

Rule out infection: My recommendation would be to see your Dr to make sure there is no infection, especially if there is pain, cramping, fever, nausea, or tenderness in your pelvis.  A  foul odor/discharge is sometimes a sign of infection.

Bacterial vaginosis?: It sounds like you may have bacterial vaginosis. This will require testing with the doctor and then if confirmed treatment with antibiotics. Bacterial vaginosis is an overgrowth of normal vaginal bacteria it is not a sexually transmitted disease.
