COVID 19 Sx's may include fever, cough, feeling tired, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, chills, chest pain, nasal congestion, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Get urgent care for difficulty breathing, blue lips, persistent chest pain/ pressure or new onset confusion.

Whatever they want: Most kids feel so crummy with the flu that they don't want to eat or drink anything. If they are hungry, that's a good sign! Give them what they want (within reason). I'd start with bland foods, especially if there was tummy-upset. No specific food will shorten the illness--only time &amp; love! And remember pushing fluids is far more important! Dehydration is a major cause of hospitalization from flu

Difficult to tell: Good question. You can vomit from both. You can have diarrhea. Usually the flu will give you a fever. It could also give you a rash. If you can, get a nasal swab to test for flu. There is medicine which can shorten the flu and maybe lessen the severity. In any case replace fluids with water or ginger ale to maintain a good urine output. Tylenol (acetaminophen) for aches and fever. See doctor if need. Feel better.

Influenza: As the flu is accompanied by fever, offering lots of liquids will be the best treatment. Oftentimes, sick children lose their appetite so feed your child whatever s/he likes and can tolerate. Don't worry if s/he does not eat well, just maintain good hydration.

Change in smell: Sometimes a change in your sense of smell can occur after a viral illness. It would be a good idea to see an ear nose and throat doctor for an evaluation. The sense of smell and the sense of taste are very closely intertwined and changes in your sense of smell will lead to a change in your sense of taste.

Flu: Stick to fluilds.  Water, chicken soup and other liquids.  If it gets worse you need to go to hospital for IV fluids.
