Labyrinthitis: Depending on which nerve root was affected by your shingles outbreak, you may have "irritated" nerves that innervate the labyrinth, or balance centers of the ears.  If shingles was not a case of the head and neck area, then i recommend a simple blood test such as imunocap, which tests for food allergies, thus helping you identify allergies directly and minimize your exposure to them.

hi my husband has been puking since this morning, has serious vertigo + is off balance. im suspecting food poisoning but want to be sure. i gave him a pill for nausea, which is working. do i still take him to a doctor to check that its nothing else?

Agree with Dr. Lee: Make sure that he drinks enough water, soda, or electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated. If he is unsteady on his feet or develops difficulty, in breathing,  or has fever, you should take him to a hospital.

13 years ago a piece of raw carrot got into in my throat and made a hole where food gets into my sinuses now i'm getting vertigo could it be from that?

That depends: Did you have this "hole" closed? If no then it is very likely that you have a sinus infection from food getting where it doesn't belong. This could cause vertigo. Don't think so: Foods themselves do not cause dizziness.  If you have an abnormal release of Insulin in response to certain foods then your sugar could drop suddenly causing the sense of dizziness.
