Vice versa: Food allergy may induce symptoms similar to ibs but ibs does not lead to food allergy.  The best approach is avoidance of the offending foods and perhaps consult an allergist who can help you sort out whether your problem is from wheat allergy or gluten intolerance.

Food allergies?: First one needs to know whether the food allergies are clearly documented since your child may well have a malabsorption problem which may not  be from food allergies.  If you have indeed eliminated all possible food allergens, then the poop should have become normal in less than a week. Consult a pediatric gastroenterologist but may try a hydrolyzed protein formula for the time being.

Allergic reaction: First of all, get to an emergency room for treatment if you are short of breath.  After everything has settled down, make an appointment with an allergist to help determine what your allergies truly are.  Feel better.

Colon problems: Since the illnesses you mentioned in your question are all different, it sounds as though your problem really hasn't been diagnosed yet at all. If you are still having problems, be sure to see a gastroenterologist. If you have already seen one and still can't sort this out, get a second opinion from another gastroenterologist. These diseases are not mysteries! Keep going until you feel better.

Yes: Especially in children too young to communicate effectively.  Food allergies can manifest as itching, hives, swelling, vomiting and/or diarrhea.  Any of these symptoms could lead to being irritable.  Similarly, food intolerance syndromes such as lactose intolerance with abdominal pain, gas and diarrhea can also be accompanied by irritability.  There are other reasons for being irritable as well.

Unlikely: This sounds more like it is in the region of the gallbladder. If you eat fatty foods (or anything, for that matter) the gallbladder produces bile which might be squeezing against stones....Causing the pain and nausea. Have your primary doctor evaluate this, though a GI specialist might need to get involved.

Rome 3 criteria: Irritable bowel syndrome (ibs) is a non-critical condition w/ abdominal discomfort, altered/ alternating stool pattern, accompanying nausea, bloating, gassiness. Often improved by stooling, ibs is defined by changes in perception of gut distension, motility, sensation. Diet (keep a food diary) & emotional stress may be a factor but first rule out inflammation, ischemia, infection, malabsorption.

Aggravate, not cause: Ibs patients can have food, emotional triggers; can vary with hormones/menstrual cycle.
Some are bothered by cold foods, "gassy" foods (beans, grains, broccoli, etc), fruit (fructose), milk sugar (lactose), fatty foods, carbonated beverages, etc.
Diet diary may help clarify, and help rx.
