Bring activities: Airplane flights can be a great time to work on crafts and practice writing numbers and letters.  Make sure you bring along plenty of activities (remember the attention span of a preschooler is about 15-20min!).  Also bring their favorite blanket or stuffed animal to help them take a nap.  Bring some easy to eat finger food snacks such as cheerios, dried fruit, cut up veggies, etc.  Make it fun!

Depends on problem: This depends on the nature of the problem.  For a serious problem such as significant rectal bleeding, delay in treatment could have serious consequences; if one were to collapse from blood loss on an airplane, there would not be sufficient opportunity for fluid resuscitation until landing.

Distraction: This age group has a very small attention span. Bring new items to play with and you will probably need to get up and walk the aisles to keep them occupied. Many times all the things around them are a good distraction too.

Relax: Not stressing the flight is probably the best tip.  Most of the time, the flight is uneventful and the infant does wonderfully.  Sometimes infants do experience pain with take offs and landings as pressure in the middle ear changes.  Having your infant sucking on something (nursing, bottle feeding or using a nipple) during take off and landings often alleviates the pain.  Enjoy your flight!

Yes: No relationship of flying or high altitude condition and hemorrhoids. Avoid constipation & sitting too long with straining at the toilet. High fiber diet, drink plenty of water & preventative measures will help you.
