what are gall bladder surgery and gall bladder flush?

Lap chole: Gall bladder surgery is usually a very common proceedure called a laparoscopic cholecystectomy in which a surgeon places 3 - 4 tiny holes in your abdomen to remove the offending organ.  It is outpatient, you go home the same day and usually return to work in 1 - 3 weeks.  It has been done safely since the early 90's.  I am not familiar with a gall bladder flush.

Not that I know of: Foods and alternate non-medical cleansers do not resolve gallstones. There are medications (actigall) that may be prescribed for some people to try to dissolve gallstones with mixed results.

Toxins: Although the bladder is always "flushing itself", it still holds urine for an extended period of time when you hold your urine for several hours between voids.  It is felt that during this period of time, the carcinogens exposed to bladder can promote cellular damage and eventually lead to bladder cancer since they are in continuous contact wit the bladder lining.

Duration of Boto : Botox usually lasts 2-4 months. There is no known method of  causing it to wear off faster.

: Only time can tell this. Everyone and every kidney stone is different.  Ask Dr who knows the pattern in the Phill in folks like you.

UTI for a week: If you have had a UTI for a week, "flushing" it out does not appear to be working. Go to a physician and get our urine cultured and get started on the appropriate antibiotic. Good luck.

In short, Yes: About one ounce of water per kilogram of body weight (if you weigh 150 pounds, 75 ounces of water -- 9 cups) is considered appropriate. There is "water" in many things however, so it doesn't have to be just free water. It is good for kidneys, bladder, heart, colon and your skin. You should drink throughout the day, not just morning!

i have had facial flushing for the past 6 months. gall bladder removed 1 week ago. flushing still, pain in mid back. palpitations. no carcinoid. help?

Check esophagus: You may want to ask your doctors about esophageal spasm. You would need high resolution esophageal manometry and maybe an upper GI contrast study to find out. At least you know it's not the gallbladder.

: You should see your primary care physician to rule out an urinary tract infection. Your doctor may suggest an abdominal X-ray or CT to assess the location of your kidney stone.

Accepted Answer

Groin pain: The combination of abdominal and groin pain may be seen with an inguinal hernia. I recommend an examination by a general surgeon.
