hi my cardio doctor said i have wolf parkinson white syndrome, now im suffering from migraine and lighthead my familydoctor said i do have migraine since she recmnd flunarizine sibelium 5mg i saw on the internet people with parkinson do not take drug?

WPW: Wolf Parkinson White is a cardiac issue resulting in arrhythmias. Parkinson's is a neurological issue. The two have nothing to do with each other. Follow your doctor's recommendations. She knows what she is doing.

i developed drug induced parkinsonism after 28 months of taking flunarizine for migraine. it has been 12 months since i stopped taking flunarizine yet the parkinsonism remains. should i be worried about developing actual parkinson's disease?

: I would expect the parkinsonian side effects to resolve after the causative medication is out of your system and true Parkinson's disease would not follow.  If you still have concerns, consult a neurologist for evaluation and advice.

MaintenanceTreatment: If, after 2 months of the initial treatment the result is satisfactorily, the dose should be decreased so that each week 5 days treatment with sibelium and 2 successive days no drug. You should keep this migraine prophylactic protocol for at least 6 month.

What's indication ?: Sibelium is indicated to prophylax migraines &amp; to treat vestibular vertigo. The drug's safety is not established in pregnancy, &amp; it is contraindicated in patients with depression, Parkinson's, or known hypersensitivity to flunarizine. It may lead to drowsiness particularly when taken with alcohol or CNS depressants. May also lead to progressive fatigue, galactorrhea, &amp; drug-drug interactions.

TopamaC?: Never heard of it.  Topamax (topiramate) is good with adequate supervision.

Once a diagnosis of migraine has been made effective management of migraine involves three specific strategies: 1) patient education, 2) non-pharmacological management (e.g. acupuncture), and 3) pharmacological (medical) management. See an orofacial pain or headache specialist for evaluation and professional migraine management.
