Many possibilities : Leukemia could cause this, but much less likely than several other things. Given your location (South Africa) -- depending in part on lifestyle etc -- things that come to mind are tuberculosis, malaria, parasitic infestation, and various other chronic infections. HIV and syphilis are possible, depending on sexual risks. Lymphoma and other cancers aside from leukemia. See a doctor soon. Good luck!

Prob. vertigo: If you only have lightheadedness and dizziness only without sore throat and fever then it is benign positional vertigo which has become chronic. Medication Meclizine otc taken on regular basis and not as needed basis will help.

Influenza: If you have the Flu hydrate well w water, herbal teas, soup or juice. Drink sufficiently to have pale to light yellow urine. You can use pain relievers like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or NSAID’s. Rest A LOT! In some situations antiviral medications (Tamiflu, Relenza, Flumadine) may be prescribed within the first couple of days of symptoms to hasten healing or they can be used after flu exposure to prevent illness.

Not pregnant: Since your pregnancy test is negative you are not pregnant and you can mark that off the list. Since there are so many symptoms in all different unrelated body systems this complex combination of symptoms will require a visit to your primary care doctor to hep sort it out.

Flu: Flu is usually associated with sudden onset of fever, myalgias cough and last a few days.  Your ongoing symptoms sound more like sinus problems.  Either allergic or infectious.

i am experiencing pain in my upper back when breathing, also feeling very light headed i am a smoker but have had flu like symptoms waking with sweats?

Pneumonia.: With your symptoms you have at least an upper respiratory infection and could have pneumonia.  The feeling in your back can be from pleurisy.  This is the irritation/inflammation of the plural lining of the lung and can be from infection.  The light headedness could be from decreased oxygen secondary to the infection.  If you feel really bad see a dr.  U may need a chest x-ray, and antibiotics.

Sounds normal.: Viral respiratory infections can sometimes affect the inner ear nerve causing some dysequilibrium and vertigo.  This generally passes with the virus.

Sinusitis: Sinus infections often do not cause fever. See an ENT specialist to sort it out.
