: Apparently the only difference between adult and kids Florastor is the flavor. They contain the same amount of probiotic.  See below

Yes.: There is no contraindication to taking the probiotic florastor with vancomycin.

Florastor: If you recolonise ur intestine wiht the normal flora wiht it by using it for a few weeks, it will give you more than temporary relief. It could agin get lsot if you have diarrhea or tkae antibiotics, however.

UnKnown: Studies have looked at vaginal probiotics many times. Most studies have been disappointing in the results. At this time there is not enough evidence to recommend their use for vaginal health issues.

Sure it's acne?: Maybe it is something else.  Please check with your doctor as you may have any of a number of other skin conditions in that area.

2 different drugs: Pepto- Bismol is an antacid and GI tract medication for gas and upset stomach ( bismuth ). Florastor is a probiotic used to supplement normal GI digestive bacteria, especially helpful for digestion and after antibiotic therapy.

diharrea for a week, no pain, fever normal stool in morning, diharrea after eatting. take florastor an prilosec off an on. have micro colitis. reason?

Accepted Answer

Prilosec=diarrhea: It's asssumed microscopic colitis was seen on colonoscopy so Prilosec may be causing the 'loose stools'. Stool tests may help rule out infection.  If gallbladder is absent then consider Metamucil to 'firm up stools'.

i had c dif in 2015 and my former gi doc prescribed florastor, along with phillips colon health. (now i only take phillips.) but i recall her being adamantly against my eating brewers yeast in my salad, soups, etc. because its a yeast. your opinion?

Adjunctive probiotic: There are some docs who really advocate probiotics in the setting of C. diff. I'm not so sure however, and some studies actually show harm. The vanco should do the job -but if not, there are more advanced therapies. Hope you can get an ID doc on the case. Fidaxomicin may be superior to vanco. Then, there's fecal transplant which works really well but not always available. I check my pt's for IgG
