Mis-informed: "floating poop" is an exception, not the norm.  Stool floats in part when it contains a lot of air or gas. You are correct in that diet plays a considerable role in stool composition, but additional roles here are played by your bacterial flora, the effectiveness of food digestion and absorption, GI transit time, more.

Possible.: I would consider changing your diet. The fatty acids are not being absorbed. Decrease the amount of oils and fat in your diet. If there is no improvement see a physician.

Gas: Carbon gas.  Highly fat containing diets or other extreme diets can have this type of 'floaters' in the stool.

: Suspect is is something you are eating that does not get digested. Take a picture and you can enlarge it and maybe figure it out.

Usually: Malabsorbtion of fats results in poop that floats (consistently) Transient floating may just reflect retained bowel gas.

this may sound graphic but i ate blueberries and 4 hours later pooped loose dark poop, i also seen blueberry  skin floating on top? is this normal?

Yes: Check to see whether not you have allergies to blueberries for it to go through your system so quickly like that. If you chewed it a lot, then you'd see less  skin visible there, but if you chewed it and swallowed it whole, then you are going to see what you are seeing now your poop. And people do have allergies to food that they commonly eat, and don't even realize it.

Stool mucus or more?: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, &amp; even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. At the very least stool studies should help address if mucus white bits you're seeing are "worms" (pinworms, etc.) so rx can begin.

: I could have been a food remnant. If anything in your anorectal area, like a hemorrhoid or fissure, discharged bright red blood, I'd expect more than one red dot on the stool and some red staining on toilet paper.
