if you think you had a oral herpes outbreak in 2014 and took the hsv1 igg blood test both in 2018 and summer of 2020 and it came back negative could it be possible that its a false negative?

Herpes: It is unlikely that two different tests 2 years apart would both be false negatives. I think you can safely assume you are truly have negative.

Possible: Possible but it would have to be almost immediately transferred.

Maybe new problem: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can help decrease throat pain.

Not likely: Shingles is moat often attributed to the chicken pox (hsv family), not genital (hsv2). Dr can test, if indicated for clarification.

Herpes tends to be painful.  Salt water gargle (3x  /day -after meals) may decrease bacterial count and pain. May also be strep/chlamydia .Would f/u /w/ MD for culture and antibiotics if needed..

Herpes : Herpes outbreaks definitely last longer and are more painful if untreated.The sooner the medication is started (i.e. At the onset of a tingling sensation prior to any herpes lesions being present) the shorter the duration of the actual herpetic lesion. Your primary care provider can prescribe a medication you can take when an outbreak occurs, and often time will give many refills since this is a chronic condition.

i am 20 years old and about 3 months ago i had herpes outbreak for the first time so used antivirals now there is swelling on my penis like just an artery is swelled starting from bottom of the tip and round the hesd of my penis. should i be worried?

: You can watch and wait. What you notices is likely the dorsal vein and not an artery. It should become less prominent when the inflammation subsides. Inform your sex partners of your herpes infection status. Condom may not prevent transmission of herpes to your sex partner.

Only temporarily: A woman who already had Herpes 1 a while back, will already have antibodies that stop Herpes 1 viruses. If that saliva-coated penis transferred Herpes 1 viruses into her vagina, she has the viruses temporarily... but only until her antibodies zap them. Thus, if her immune system is working well, her antibodies should prevent new Herpes 1 viruses from taking root on or in her genitals.
