RICE: The old stand-by rice, rest-ice-compression-elevation, still works pretty well.  If there is significant pain with weight bearing or any tenderness when pressing on your bones, you should see a doc and get an xray to make sure it is not fractured.

DDx, Tx: I'm not sure i would say "first  aid". I would say that the etiology of shortness of breath needs to be determined. The differential diagnosis (ddx) could include:  volume overload, chf, pulmonary embolism, copd/asthma, pneumonia, etc. The treatment depends on the diagnosis/etiology of the symptom of shortness of breath.

Keep clean and dry: An otherwise uncomplicated toe laceration should be cleaned initially to remove dirt. If superficial, keep it covered, clean, & dry. It may heal faster if protected in a loose fitting shoe with a firm sole. If it is deep, seek evaluation to see if it needs sutured. If it is very deep or there is concern that other structures are injured, eg tendons or nerves, seek evaluation.

Laceration : You may need stitches if there was heavy bleeding. If the glass was dirty then it is important to clean and disinfect the laceration. Rubbing alcohol is a good start for cleaning the site. Keep the hand elevated and use ice to reduce inflammation and swelling until you can get to a doctor to evaluate the laceration.

Watch for signs: Was it a clean cut? Is tetanus up to date? Monitor for signs of infection. Keep clean with mild soap such as Cetaphil plain soap followed by light occlusive dressing such as petrolatum or Aquaphor or neosporin if not allergic. It should heal in 3-5 days if superficial.
