Not always: Inflammation can be triggered by many things, and generates some chemical reactions that result in redness, warmth and a change in sensation.Often this change is itching but it can be pain instead. Some causes of inflammation can result in an allergic reaction, which usually itches, but again can instead cause pain. Local cooling can be helpful, & anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen may be used.

As prescribed: Yes you should start taking the meds. As prescribed as the prescribing doctor must know that you are recovering from chest cold, no relations..

Probably not: There are other reasons not to take zinc. It will upset your stomach and can make you copper deficient. To manage your acne, use topical benzoyl peroxide. If you are not clear in two weeks, get with your personal physician who will add prescription-strength rx.

Yes: Injection site reactions can certainly happen from interferon.  Some things that you can do include slowing down the injection, topical creams (antiseptic, corticosteroid, aloe), and antihistamines (benadryl).   Also, make sure you do not always inject in the same place.  Rotate the sites of injection.

Benzoyl peroxide: Those products are likely to irritate. More beneficial would be a 5% Benzoyl peroxide cream or gel, applied thinly at night and washed off each morning. These are available OTC.

Consider being seen: If you're quite sure that this is due to a particularly nasty soap, phone the manufacturer and tell them, and let things heal on their own. If it's not obviously resolving in two days, please get seen. I also trust you are not taking any medications, especially new ones, even "herbal holistic" stuff -- if it's actually a drug rash and you continue to take the rx, you may end up with no skin.

how do i take care of head skin inflammation/irritation? it does not look like dandruff and very itchy. when i scratch, thick dandrufflike white paches fall off. my hair is falling off. pliz help. its been about a month

See your doc: If you hair is actually breaking off, that may be a sign of a fungal infection.  You should be evaluated in person for testing and treatment.  Hope this helps!
