Not usually: It is very abnormal to run a fever after iui. Other sources of the fever need to be sought. If the fever was due to a rare possibility of a tubal infection after insemination then compromise of the fallopian tubes may occur.

Sperm in uterus: Iui is process of putting prepared sperm in the uterine cavity. Used to treat poor mucus, mild male factor, unexplained infertility-ui, single women or lesbians and sometimes when couple cannot have sex themselves. It works but less than natural intercourse in fertile couples. Often we add superovulation. Works best when ui and normal tests. Best wishes.

Paragard or Mirena (levonorgestrel): With paragard, period may have same or heavier flow and same or heavier cramping than before insertion. With mirena, (levonorgestrel) Progesterone is released into uterus and the effect is only in uterus not throughout the body, there is usually less days and amount of flow and sometimes the period stops, with that comes less cramping.You  still ovulate each month with either iud and mid-cycle pain may be be there.
