If you have: An incarcerated femoral hernia, you need to have surgical repair.  If it is acutely painful or tender, or if you have any nausea or vomiting, it is a true surgical emergency.  I am not aware of any exercise that can correct this type of hernia.  You should see a surgeon for definite opinion and plan of care.

Yes, in women.: In general, hernias are much more common in men than women (these are typically groin or inguinal hernias);  however, femoral hernias are more common in women.  Likewise, it is more common to have a hernia on one side rather than both, but "double" hernias do occur in about 10% of people who have a hernia on one side.

No: While there is no way to prevent femoral hernias, they will tend to get larger with prolonged exertion such as heavy lifting or obesity.

Any and all: Once you've been released to activity by your surgeon, probably one to three weeks, based on technique , you'll have no restrictions. You'll be able to do any sport or activity, tempering your enthusiasm by your level of residual soreness. The purpose of hernia repair is to return you to full and unrestricted activity. Good luck.

In contrast, small inguinal hernias that are easily reducible and not causing symptoms may sometimes be safely watched.

Get an operation: A hernia repair is the only way to make this better.  This is done by a surgeon.  Although you could wait and see, the hernia definitely won't get any better, and will probably get worse.
Today we do hernias laparoscopically, which get you back to work faster and hurt much less.  You should look for a surgeon who repairs hernias this way.

See a doctor: Femoral hernias are uncommon, occur more often in women, and can be somewhat more difficult to identify. They would be felt below the inguinal ligament (groin crease region). You would need to have a physical examination by a doctor to tell if you have a hernia.
