It causes pain!: Femara doesn't really "attack" the joints, but it definitely causes joint pain!  this occurs in 4 out of 10 women taking the drug.  It is likely due to lowering of blood estrogen levels.  Sometimes switching to another similar drug (anastrazole, aka arimidex) can help.  If your vitamin d level is low, getting it back to normal levels with supplements can help the joint pain.

Femara!!!: It is definitely the femara! almost half of women taking Femara get moderate to severe joint pain. Sometimes switching to a different aromatase inhibitor helps. Make sure your doctor knows you're having pain. If your vitamin d level is low, increasing it can improve the pain. But it's really a troublesome side effect, and i'm so sorry you have it. Ask your doc for relief so you stay on the drug!

Not really.: Pycnogenol is a strong anti-oxidant from pine bark.  It contains nothing which would interfere with femara!

Withdrawal: Consult your gynecologist for a better way to discontinue your hormones. Tapering is generally better than abrupt discontinuation of any drug (absent severe immediate toxicity necessitating the discontinuation).

No, similar success: In most studies comparing Clomid (clomiphene) and Femara the pregnancy rates are similar and neither has been found to be superior to the other.  Femara for fertility is an "off-label" indication, meaning this drug was not designed for this purpose.  There are pros and cons of both Clomid (clomiphene) and Femara and they have different side effect profiles.  Talk to your doctor about what is best for you.

Very helpful: Femara or Letrozole is an oral ovulation induction medication. It works sometimes when Clomid (clomiphene) doesn't. It also helps pregnancies  to occur when Clomid (clomiphene) fails. It seems to be very helpful especially in patients with pcos. The pregnancy rates are similar to Clomid (clomiphene) but the side effects are less and the multiple pregnancies seem to be also less.
