If your symptoms are improving, then it might be OK to wait on it and see if you continue to improve.  That being said, if your symptoms persist beyond five days in total, you should see a doctor.  Gastroenteritis generally lasts 3-5 days.

If it is persistent, it could be inflammation of the stomach, a peptic or duodenal ulcer.  Slowed digestion can also cause the food to sit in the stomach which could be a source as well. If these symptoms persist see your doctor for further evaluation.
