I would: NOT do this without a consultation with an EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST or PHYSIATRIST......( the former is a physical therapist trained in exercise the latter a musculo-skeletal specialist M.D.

A grain of salt...: There is not a very good correlation between MRI findings and symptoms. 'Uptake' suggests the use of contrast that highlights inflammation. I suggest you consult with a psiatrist or practicing osteopath experienced in both MRI interpretation and physical medicine.

Lookin in wrong spot: The features you've noted are around the spine. The sensation you note would be related to things in the front of the neck. Well in front of the spine. An enlarged thyroid might give pressure symptoms, for example. Suggest you consult with your doctor for a good neck exam.

See md: If u are having pain down your thigh or leg, or weakness in the leg and it is not improving then surgery is an option. However, if this is an MRI DX and you have minor pain, you shouldn't require surgery. Even w/ radicular ( down the leg) pain non- operative treatment should be tried first ( wt loss, PT,nsaids , epidural steroid injections )...Sometimes if u can " wait it out"... It will go away!

: Your spine consists of multiple “blocks” of bones which support your body to stay erect.  In between each bone is a “cushion” made of a softer material (cartilage).  As we get older portions of this cartilage can protrude out and push on the spinal cord, causing back pain.  “Older” is a relative term - in some it can happen at 35-40, in others at 60-70.

: A discussion of these findings should come from the doc who knows the full history, exam and other test results. A simple interpretation of the wording is the size and shape of the bony spine parts result in a narrowing of the opening where the nerves exit from the spinal cord.

Yes: The findings on your MRI can be associated with back pain and even pain running into the leg.  There are many non surgical options including medications, physical therapy, chiropractic, and interventional pain management to name a few.  Don't hesitate to be seen.

May Relate, But...: Ct&mri typically done in static position, does not show what happens in motion or other positions & most importantly does not show pain or function, these are clinical/judgement issues. Pain meds listed usually a trap & muddy thinking. Docs paid for ds+dxtx work-effort, not your success. Usually much better help available but have to search, insurance ↑es costs & ↓es quality vs. Self-pay. Sad !

With difficulty: This is a diagnosis doctors disagree about. Mri and ct may show degeneration (aging, arthritis) of the small joints behind the disk and nerve channel. In some people this is painless. In some folks they may be a source of pain. Injection of medication (anesthetic or cortisone like) into the joint or around the small nerve supplying the joint is viewed by some as evidence of facet joint syndrome.
