It can also result from repeated exposure to UV light and sun damage which can stimulate melanin.  In women hormones play a role. Also the effects of acne &amp; scarring can impact skin tone. Hypopigmentation (lighter skin) can result from fungal infections, inflammation or vitiligo.

Textbooks recommend: 8 eight oz. glasses of water daily.  It may be too much for some folks.  Vitamin E capsules are helpful for skin.  Avoid lotions w/alcohol - too drying.  Eat the rainbow--lots of variety in the colors of the fruits and vegetables you eat.  Peace and good health.  Vitamin E oil can be applied lightly and directly to problem areas on the skin.  See dermatologist if you have moles or dark spots first

Wait: There is no clear and obvious fool proof treatment to make this go away. You do want to make sure your diagnosis is correct. Topical steroids can help with itching, sometime Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help too with itching.

NOT POSSIBLE: I recommend all adults take 5-8000 iu of vit d a day to achieve optimal levels. Doses of 5000 iu/day have never been reported to be toxic. Given that you have asked this 3 times now you seem obsessed with the idea that 5000 iu of d can be toxic. There is no chance of this. There are many possible causes of vertigo (spinning sensation). Even if you took too much vit d it is not known to cause that.
