Numb face: May relate to Trigeminal nerve involvement, such as Neuropathy from excess alcohol, Diabetes, vitamin deficiency, electrolyte imbalance, MS, Trauma, Migraines, Trauma, Shingles, Focal seizures, Hypothyroidism, Psychogenic, or Iatrogenic (unknown causes).

Yes: An injury to the infraorbital nerve can occur with an injury and fracture of the anterior wall of maxillary bone.  This would lead to numbness along the anterior cheek and upper teeth.

i have notice when i eat certain foods it makes either my right side of my head numb or my head numb and my face numb. why is that?

Very curious: Typical food allergies are not associated with numbness.   Ingestion of aged cheeses can lead to headache.  Alcohol can cause flushing.   If avoidance of these trigger foods results in no further numbness, then that suggests a correlation.  However, other conditions that cause numbness should be sought if it persists.

Not usually: Sinusitis and polyps should not cause facial numbness, and if there is such a combination, need to see neurologist and get this evaluated.

Not sinus problem: That is not a typical finding of sinus disease. It could be something much more sinister such as multiple sclerosis. He should get evaluated and probably have a scan of his sinuses and/or MRI of head.
