Stye?: It's possible that you have a stye affecting one of the eyelid oil glands that is sore to touch or rub. Try applying hot compresses to the eye lid for 10' 2-3 times daily and gently massage the eyelid after the application. This should ease the pressure within the gland and eventually should release the trapped contents. This usually takes a few days to resolve. If not see an eye md.

If Eyelid swelling: Pain with swollen eyelid most likely due to blocked meibomian gland (stye, chalazion);  mass or tumor unlikely unless have other sx). Restasis: Restasis is used for dry eye syndrome. It takes time to work. Keep using warm compresses.

Surgery: Over the years, gravity and your heredity work to cause eyelid droop and excess skin.  There is no medication or eyedrops that will correct this.  but the excess can be very satisfactorily removed with an outpatient surgery under local.  See your ophthalmologist for advice for this.

Probable stye: The early symptom of a stye is discomfort on blinking of the affected lid. If the vision is good, and there is no discharge and the conjunctiva looks normal, then it probably is an early stye.. Try using moist heat for 5 minutes, 4-5 times per day to get rid of it. If persistent, see your ophthalmologist.

Nerves in: neck MAY be pinched.  They move through the face and control eye, mouth, etc.  Please see your doctor who MAY refer you to a neurologist.  Peace and good health.

Triciasis entropian: Sounds like she may have an inturned lash, called "triciasis".  It is possible if the whole lid is turning in, it can be a condition called "entropian".  If it is just one lash, you can pull it out with a tweezer and see if her problem is solved.

my eyelids hurt until i pull the lash that causes the pain out. it is usually near the skin and it is not trichotillomania the paincomes each month, right in the middle of each eyelid. i always pull so many lashes out that i end up with a huge bald spot.
