Accepted Answer

No relationship: Retinal holes are in effect thin stretched spots in the peripheral retina which can be a site of retinal detachment.  Vigorous activity canSo break loose a preexisting hole, but is very unlikely to create one.  My understanding of masturbation is that it is not that vigorous.  I think you are safe from a risk here.

i used to use right eye w left as helper eye w/ binocularity. after surgery i do not have suppression and see double.  can this be fixed?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Discuss this problem with your surgeon.  If the surgery was recent, it may resolve on its own over time.  If there is a residual muscle imbalance present, more surgery could be done or glasses with prism could be used.

what causes bubble in white of eye after surgery and anesthetic?

Conjunctival cyst: Not related to anesthesia. These coincide with upper respiratory infections. Not a concern they will eventually get smaller or go away.

hello. i have squint in both eyes.  after operation is there any chance that squint will return?  also what precautions i need to take after surgery?

It may return: It is possible that surgery may not cure the problem and it may return over time.  If you can use both eyes together, it is possible that you will have a better outcome.

my body temp is always 35 to 35.7 celsius rarely goes above 36. should i be concerned? i have an infection after surgery at the moment and i'm concerned about keeping an eye on it as what is to low when that's my normal?

: Measuring body temperature can be difficult at times, and a measure body temperature of 35°C can be normal. I would only be concerned if your temperature goes significantly outside of your normal range. If that occurs, contact your doctor. Good luck.

24 hours: The patch can be removed in 24 hours or less.  I typically do not patch after the chalazion removal.

after surgery for a retinal tear...should the eye that was operated on be very red? the white part?(iris) is this normal after a surgery?

Accepted Answer

Yes: There are many blood vessels over the sclera (white part) that break and bleed during the surgery. This is normal and is like a bruise under the skin. It takes about 2 weeks to resolve. Continue with the postoperative eye drop regimen and follow up with your retina surgeon. Take care.

do any of you know how to get your eye's back and right after surgery by doing 1 simple thing ? i do .after two weeks being home after my brain surgery i decided to try something and in say 5 seconds my eye's were right .if i can do it anybody can ?

Blurry: It depends on the type of surgery and how long ago you had the surgery.  For example, cataract surgery often requires 1-3 months for full healing.  Retinal surgery often requires longer.  The key elements of faster recovery include using all prescribed eyedrops or medicines, taking it easy with physical activity, don't rub the eye, follow your doctor's directions...
