Could be both: Most commonly men who have sudden onset of ED have inhibition as a result of some event- anxiety, pain, distraction, alcohol, fatigue. But there may also be excessive nerve tone expressed by the brain which contracts the blood vessels making an erection harder to obtain. This can be psychologically and/or physically activated. Either way it's complex and it the problem persists  visit a urologist.

i took finasteride for hair loss for 2 months after getting horrible brain fog and erectile dysfunction i quit. now after a month off of it i still have horrible brain fog. i cant think, what do i do? is my brain damaged?

Brain fog: Although hormonal changes can affect your concentration and focus, I doubt that the finasteride is the culprit after 2 months off it. Other factors include stress, lack of good sleep, poor diet, negative thinking, lack of enjoyable activities including regular exercise.and alcohol, if excessive. Stress management or cognitive behavioral therapy along with some lifestyle changes should help you.

Many reasons: Many possible causes: other than long term effects from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, acute onset can be from anxiety/ stress, performance anxiety, changes in medications or supplements, nerve injury from surgery or trauma... Many- would recommend a discussion with your family physician or a urologist.

Can't tell : Could be still viral infection, causing such symptoms, erectile dysfunction can be due to the exhaustion and 'viral syndrome'. Rest , fluids and painkillers, unless contraindicated may help, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment and treatment plan, wish you wellness
