List of Antibiotics: you can get lists of antibiotics readily available from many sources on the Internet. Strength of an antibiotic is a rather subjective thing as it depends on which bacteria you are trying to treat. For example, Penicillin is very effective for Strep Throat but will not treat most skin infections. This doesn't make it any weaker an antibiotic that Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) which would treat both.  Just different.

Allergy test.: Penicillin allergy testing is available. A series of skin scratches, followed by under the skin tests are performed over 30-40 minutes. If they show no reaction, then a dose of penicillin may be given in the doctor's office to confirm beyond a doubt that there is no immediate reaction. By returning penicillin and other antibiotic choices, cost-effective treatments become available again.

Sulfa is sulfa.: Sulfa antibiotics can cause severe reactions. These reactions can get started and continue to get worse even after the antibiotic is stopped; Stevens-Johnson syndrome is an example. Generally they are easily identified, having sulfa- as a prefix (such as sulfacetamide). Ask the pharmacist regarding oral antibiotics, but be careful with OTC ointments and eyedrops. Sulfur is not usually related.

Probably: You dont know you have a staph infection. You dont know if you even have an infection, much less the exact bacteria which might be causing it.   And physicians are here to help you.  But it remains a business which requires money to operate.  So if you have an infection which requires antibiotics, go and see a doctor.  B/c if you become septic from an untreated infection, you could die.

Pneumonia: Strep pneumonia should be treated with oral or IV or intramuscular antibiotics.  See your doctor and ask what needs to taken for this.

Follow your pediatrician: if your daughter needed antibiotics, so that was her pediatrician 's judgement after evaluating her, keep a follow up now till she recovers and later to prevent recurrence, wish her a speedy recovery

Yes but both:  Both are done together. Remove the infected prosthesis, and then add the anabiotic within cement in for a while sometimes long depends on the type of infection
