low back pain. 8 mos post laminectomy. need good lower back strengthening exercises. pain dr. claims says its bio mech changes in facets post  surgery?

It could be facet: Pain, but often during laminectomies they obliterate the medial branch that feeds the facet, so it is not the only possibility and other things, like post-laminectomy syndrome, should be considered. A diagnostic block of the medial branch can be an easy way to find out if those small nerves are causing the pain or not. Pt should still be in the discussion as well.

i'm 5'1" & weigh 250 lbs, not over eating, under. is weight loss surgery a good option? chronic lower back pain=hard to exercise, weight hurts back

If you are really: 7 years old, you should not be on HealthTap. If you are older, you MUST be overeating to weigh 250 pounds. If you do not have a medical condition, such as hypothyroidism, that can be treated -- you need intensive education in caloric restriction, increased physical activity and weight reduction.

have significant lower back pain/stiffness, especially when waking up. exercise and stretch daily, but sit most of the day. should i see a physiatrist?

Back pain: Morning stiffness is common with arthritis. A physiatrist will be able to help diagnose and treat the cause.

is there anything i can do at home to help with my lower back pain. i have a herniated disk and i'm getting surgery but until then im suffering :/?

See below...: Rest, avoid lifting and bending, change positions often and avoid long car rides/long sitting/long standing, etc.  Also, anti-inflammatory medications may be helpful if you don't have other contraindications.

i have tarsal coalition and following that lower back pain. it's hard for me to jog. how do i relive the effects of tarsal coalition without surgery?

Sometimes: Orthotics and anti inflammatory medication (if no medical contraindications to their use) or consider cross training or avoiding sports/activities involving running like swimming, biking  or rowing.

i have had surgery for a growth on my fifth disc on my neck and have lots of lower back pain can't clean half a room with out crying in pain have seen a dr for this but only gave me pills and shots what can i do about it now can't seem to get my regular d

Need an MRI: You need an MRI of the neck to define the diagnosis and help treat you.You may need to see  a neurologist  or even a neurosurgeon

Medication, epidural: You can try a variety of medications such as oral steroids, non steroidal anti inflammatories, elavil, nuerontin/lyrica or Cymbalta (duloxetine) depending on allergies or medical issues.  Epidural steroid injections & other pain management techniques are an option.  Time is biggest healer as 90% resolve. Regular exercise, not smoking & weight control play a role with physical therapy an option as well

is it normal to have some lower back pain when coughing or sneezing after microd/hemilaminotomy 3months after surgery? but otherwise there is no pain

Back pain after surg: Spine surgery can lead to scar tissue within the spine. Coughing or sneezing causes increased pressure within the spinal canal. A discectomy leads to weakening of the outer disc wall and is prone to recurrent herniation if subjected to increased pressure. If you combine all these factors, it will be easy to understand why coughing or sneezing can cause more pain. If this pain radiates down the leg.

sacrum n lower back pain doc said may be caused by a double loop cyst at s2 (racepinephrine). suggested surgery. why do some cysts cause symptoms but others don't?

Not sure what you : Mean by "double loop cyst." he may be referring to a benign incidental finding (usually noted on your lumbar spine mri), which are mostly asymptomatic called tarlov cysts, which are perineurial cysts. 

Only on very rare occasions could this be the cause of your symptoms. So go have a spine surgeon evaluate you and give you a better answer after a physical examination and review of your mri.

is it normal to get lower back pain after a total knee replacement surgery?

No: Most patients do not experience back pain, however, many patients have some back arthritis that can be exacerbated by the use of crutches, a walker, or a cane after surgery.
