i have excessive mucus i feel like i always need to clean my airways by coughing or anything lately i am feeling like the mucus is so much in my stomach i feel it bad i cant sleep at night it makes me feel so scared?

Excess mucus: Excessive mucus and feeling like you always need to cough or clean your airways is usually a sign of mucus production in your sinuses that keeps draining down and gives you the symptoms you are experiencing. Typically it is caused by allergies, using antihistamines or otc nose sprays can help. Also can do a humidifier at night. Please get it examined if it persists.

: It seems you have used Nystatin solution for oral candidiasis but your symptoms are beyond the oral cavity. You need to take systemic fluconazole for oroesophageal candidiasis. I wonder what your underlying disease is because this condition usually occurs in immunocompromised status.

Protective/ excess?: Mucus is generally protective/reactive. Do you have ulcers? Commonly caused by H.pylori bacteria &amp; use of NSAID's as independent risk factors, as are age, tobacco use &amp; prior history of ulceration. Admission to ICU can result in stress-related ulceration, &amp; significant burns (curling's ulcer), head trauma (cushing's ulcer), sheering forces, cancer, acid hypersecretion (Z-E syndrome) are causative.

2 different things: Mucus is a clear secretion, made by a variety of glandular-type cells in the nose, sinuses, gut; typically not acidic in nature. Stomach acid is just that; made by specialized cells in the stomach. The stomach lining also secretes mucus, and has a layer for protecting stomach lining cells from acid, enzymes, and food stuff. Break in the mucus layer can lead to ulcers, not usually excess acid.

my formula fed 2 week old poops 10 + times a day and has a slight clear mucus streak to it.  he also has a blotted looking stomach. should i worry?

M.D. visit: In a young infant, especially infants younger than six months of age, there can be a number of conditions causing these symptoms. These include infections, congenital abnormalities and allergic reactions to the formula. I would recommend a follow up visit soon with your physician.
