every morning i wake up with a burning and sticky eye. it is usually hot all day. just small drop of water helps me open it in the morning. what to do?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Don't know your age or health but you may have a tear duct problem.  If the eye does not drain the tears, they can cause "glueing" of the eye and mattering.  Warm compresses, massage of the inner aspect of the eye near the junction with the nose and some artificial tears may help.  If this is an ongoing problem, i would recommend you see your pcp or ophthalmologist for exam and treatment.

You can wash off : Your eyes with water, then apply some eye drops like visine. If pus starts to appear, go see your dr for a prescription of antibiotic eye drops.

Needs examination: an acute eye, as what you described, needs to be examined, if you can't afford a a doctor, you want to go to ER, but don't wait on it, good luck

acetic anhydride drops splashed into my eyes this morning.... i flushed my eyes with water
but it is still red and burning 
so, after 8 hours i used tobradex and systane ultra for few times 
but it is still burning and the reddnes fades a little bit?

Vision evaluation:  Continue to rinse your eyes, check your vision and please seek medical care. The cornea may be inflamed and at risk of scarring if there is continued pain. You should be seen right away. Continue the antibiotic and Systane, but flush your eyes with warm water running in a stream for at least 15 minutes.

i think i got shampoo in my eyes last night i woke up with burning/stinging. this morning i rinsed eyes out with purified bottled water but i read bottled water contains micro plastics. could this hurt my eyes and are there micro plastics in my eyes?

Basics: You seem to have had chemical irritation of the sensitive eye structures from the shampoo. I would ignore the "micro-plastics" issue since it is just advertising BS. If your eyes burn or your vision is blurry see a doc.You may have burned your cornea with the  chemicals. If it is minor irritation it should fade in a few days.

: As long as symptom goes away and you do not see anything wrong on your cornea and your vision is clear in all direction when you cover the unaffected eye.

i've been dealing with burning eyes irrationans and watering eyes for about 2 weeks. i'm now dealing with this problem everyday this week and i have tried eye drops but that hasn't solved the problem?

: Burning irritated eyes can be caused by environmental allergies, but also by creams, soaps and sunscreen gradually sliding into your eyes during normal everyday activities. Look at your facial routine first and see if there is anything new/different about your skin care routine. It may be that identifying and removing a product can clear the problem immediately. If not, try an oral antihistamine.

i accidentally got a small droplet of hydrogen peroxide in my eye. the burning subsided after i rinsed it out with lukewarm water. should i be worried?

No : Assuming it was not commercial grade (unlikely because you would be in terrible pain), there is nothing to worry about.

If : Hello,

if your husband was not wearing protective eyewear, he might have injured his eyes either by the exposure to radiation and heat or by having minute metal particles lodged onto the surface of his eyes. He needs to see an ophthalmologist right away. If the corneas (the fron surface of the eye) are injured by radiation and heat, he might just need intensive lubrication with artificial tear and possible some antibiotic depending on the severity of his exposure. If the metal particles are causing the discomfort, they would need to be removed and he would need to be on antibiotic drops to prevent the infection. The retinas may also be injured if he looked at the light without protection for a few seconds. That just requires time to get better on its own.

Hope he feels better soon but please see an eye doctor asap.

i am almost 61 yrs old my eyes seems to be getting very small. i have some problems with pain in eye, and watering for no reason. sometimes burning, stinging. seen optition, says no problem, but iam worried?

Sounds like Dry eyes: Dry eyes are an often the culprit of many symptoms in the eye which can include burning, stinging, tearing, foreign body sensation, tiredness, heaviness, blurred vision and eye pain. You can have some or all of the symptoms or even none of the symptoms and have dry eye. I would suggest starting with using over-the-counter artificial tears and a warm compress on the eye to see if that helps.
