Unclear: it is unclear as to whether estrogen will affect progression of a cystocele.  Kegals, losing weight(if needed), not being constipated, staying active without putting repetitive pressure to pelvic floor all will help

Estrogen: I have never heard of a negative number for estrogen levels in women or men. Please make sure that you are not making a mistake.

Even if you are not absorbing .75 Estradiol (highly unlikely) make sure that there is at least one hour between taking your medicine and eating.

Not necessarily: First, the definition of menopause is cessation of periods for one year straight without other causes.  A single estrogen level doesn't mean anything.  Especially in the last 5-7 years before menopause, your estrogen level will fluctuate from day to day and may be in the menopausal range one day and normal premenopausal the next.  I don't waste the patients time doing levels.

Hard to tell: Since i don't know if the estrogen is blood or urine, which test was done, and what the units are. Also tibolone is nor available in the us, so most of us aren't that familiar with it, but there were some concerns that have prevented it's approval here. Check w/your local docs for more information.

Numbness/ menopause: These symptoms are not the usually ones associated with low estrogen.  Numbness in hands and feet may be a condition called peripheral neuropathy.  Other conditions can also cause this.  It is vaital that you see your physician for examinations to evaluate your situation and then advise you on proper treatment.

can a woman be going through menopause with a estrogen level of 40 and normal fsh levels? i'm a 300 lb woman, haven't had a period in almost 2 years. i heard estrogen levels are higher in obese women. i had a mental break down when my period stopped?

: You are correct. Obese post-menopausal women have higher estrogen levels than normal weight women.

Misunderstood tests: Menopause is not diagnosed based on high FSH and LH levels, but low levels can rule it out. As you get older the ovaries become increasingly resistant to ovulation and require ever higher FSH and LH levels to respond. Eventually they will not respond at all, you can no longer ovulate and you will have no more periods. The official diagnosis of menopause is no periods for a year. You are normal.

Depends: How quickly someone can have symptoms after stopping the estrogen patch will vary.  Some have few and some are unable to wean themselves.  Do it slowly so your body has a chance to adjust.  If you are having problems, speak with your physician.
