esthetician vs. dermatology rn, which should i see?

Depends on need...: ...are you looking for a cosmetic procedure, or a dermatology exam for a diagnosis?   Esthetician is restricted to cosmetic procedures, but is specifically trained that field.    A dermatology registered nurse may or may not have experience or training in cosmetic procedures, but would be able to handle dermatology examinations and treatments almost at level of a dermatologist.

is it safe to go to an esthetician for microdermabrasion?  thanks.

When you use safe: word you should probably check with dermatologist or plastic surgeon first. That would take your worries away and would relax you.

Abrasion Technique: I don't know of any situation where you would do microdermabrasion every week.

Retinol: There is very little benefit in using retinol.

Yes: Dermatologists are fully trained md's with post medical school residency of 3-5 years.  They are a respected subdiscipline of medicine.  If you have the grades and the drive, by all means choose this pathway.  A medical esthetician can have a wonderful career and is a good fall back position.

african femeale with pih on cheeks as well as small tiny pimples. my esthetician suggested bpo 10% at night on a schedule. will this remove dark marks?

Dark Marks: BPO 10% will not remove dark marks. Have a physician write a prescription for Hydroquinone.

i have a burning pain in between my left pointer and middle finger. it's usually when i get home from work i work as an esthetician?

Overuse: If you're using your hands and fingers a lot during the day, it's similar to what happens to people who type a lot... The fingers get sore, they get tired, and they need a rest.  The fact that it's happening after work is more evidence that you probably need to take more frequent breaks to give your fingers a rest.  Or modify your technique to minimize repetitive motions.

can i take vitamin  a for acne? it was recommended to me by an esthetician but i'd rather hear from a doctor if its ok for the use acne . if ican use it is it ok twice a week? because ik it can be dangerous :)

Acne : Retinols or retinoids are topical vitamin A products that can be quite helpful with acne

See a Specialist: You should see either a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon who specializes in acne scarring, cosmetic surgery and lasers. They would own many lasers and have many years of experience treating acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and other disorders. Chemical acid peels do not work as well as lasers but some doctors do not own any lasers and only offer chemical peels. But lasers cost more.
