Temporary relief: For an 83 Y.O. Back with chronic degenerative disc disease, an epidural injection of the spine will only give temp relief to symptoms, but may last from 3-12 months in certain individuals!

No, no: A SLAP tear is a tear of the superior labrum.  The labrum is the structure that helps hold the humeral head in the glenoid.  A steroid injection will definitely not help it heal at all; an injection of PRP is also extremely unlikely to have any affect on whether it heals or not. Usually it will either be fairly well tolerated, or you will have to have it repaired.

Have it checked: Could be an infection locally, or a fluid collection (the medicine carrier was not properly absorbed), or possibly a local reaction. All should be evaluated by a dr.

Minimal : Sometimes a rash or heat sensation can occur.  If you have a significant case of diabetes, your glucose levels can be affected.  Occasionally, a headache can occur or local back pain or pressure sensation from the injection.  These all tend to resolve quickly.

Steroid injection: Steroids can cause a local thinning of the skin, whether they be topically in a cream or form an injection such as you had. When the skin is thinner, you can more easily see the capillary and other blood vessels in the upper layers of the skin, and thus the purplish coloring you note. As the skin re-thickens, this will gradually fade away.

Rule out CSF: The first and foremost thing to rule out in a constantly or frequently runny nose is that it isn't mucus at all, but cerebrospinal fluid from an old, perhaps overlooked, break in the skull.  This fluid will prove to contain glucose, using a urine dipstick.  Ordinary nose discharge will not.  Worry about this first, before you get a list of the diseases of the nose mucosa itself.

Accepted Answer

No: Intermittant steroid injections for a ruptured disc or epidural injection will not predispose you to tendon rupture in the spine or cause ill effect unless you are having them done repeatedly and at less than 3 month interval.  Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work.

Accepted Answer

Depends on your hip!: If you have mild inflammation, but another wise normal hip, the injection might last a long time.  If you have severe arthritis, torn cartilage, or bone damage, the injection might not do much at all.

Probably: I have done these before with no problems but it is best to ask your obgyn about your particular case.
